Savoring God through literacy in His literal Word

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES

•  A man who operates by principle, does not consider or weigh the consequences.  1 Kings 21:1-4

•  We should never elicit or solicit the help of ungodly non-principled people to help us.  1 Kings 21:5-7

•  Don’t be surprised if the consequence of a godly-principled decision results in false charges.  It was so with Christ and the apostles and may be with us.  1 Kings 21:8-16

•  All decisions bear consequences; sin or anti-biblical principles bear the consequence of death.  1 Kings 21:17-29

•  Everyone who believes in an afterlife wants salvation insurance.  Everyone wants to escape judgment after death.  Everyone wants to go to heaven, but if your motive is to obtain insurance of heaven, you can’t be saved!  Matthew 10:32-39

•  Until the Holy Spirit quickens the heart to hear and to see, the sinner can’t tell the difference between insurance of salvation and assurance of salvation.  Assurance of salvation can only come from Christ when we place our faith and trust in Him for forgiveness of sins.  Matthew 3:1-2, Matthew 4:17, Acts 2:37-38, John 6:28-51, John 4:7-15

•  Eternal life is not about insurance; it is about assurance; assurance that your sins are forgiven and you are following Christ.  Acts 2:29-41

•  We must deal with sin by delivering the truth and forcefully by applying God’s Word and we must go immediately when God tells us to go.  1 Kings 21:16-22, 2 Samuel 11:26-27, 12:1-14

•  Because of who we are, everything we say and everything we do is an example of our relationship with God and Christ.  Matthew 5:16, 2 Corinthians 5:19-20

•  Public sin is an additional affront to God and will bring additional public consequences.  I Kings 21:22, 2 Samuel 12:13-14, 1 Peter 4:14-15, 1 Timothy 5:20

•  In the flesh, we have the potential for great sins, but the blood of Christ is greater than our greatest sin and being in Christ, our sin cannot separate us from Him, nor Him from us.  Matthew 5:21-22, Psalms 58:3, Psalms 22:9-10, Psalms 71:6, Galatians 1:15, 1 Samuel 16:12-13

•  As chosen sons and daughters of God, we are not judged according to our sins, because Christ’s blood has covered them and we are judged according to His righteousness in our stead.  Psalms 103:10, John 10:27-30, Hebrews 11:32-40
