VALLEY REFORMED CHURCH
Savoring God through literacy in His literal Word
Valley Reformed Church is an independent Reformed Baptist Church. We began meeting on February 11, 2007 and by God’s grace, will continue meeting until He returns.
We believe that God is sovereign and is in control of all things and that no plan of His can be thwarted. (Dan 4:35) We believe that reading His Word increases our knowledge of Him and helps us to more greatly appreciate the work of Christ on the cross which delivered us from our sins and God’s wrath. We believe it also equips us to evangelize, which we do through preaching salvation messages and personal contact with the lost.
We use the Geneva Bible, the Original King James Version, and the English Standard Version. Since the Geneva was the Bible of the Reformers and preceded the Kings James Version, we find it to be literal and accurate, although more difficult to read. The English Standard Version is easier to read and is a literal word for word translation. Many of the most popular Bibles used today are not word for word translations, but are dynamic equivalents or thought for thought translations.
Our worship service is orderly, designed to worship God, centered around Scripture and our singing is from the Baptist Trinity Hymnal. We honor the Lord’s Table each Sunday.
We believe that the elders and the teaching elders are called and graced by God to lead by example. Since we consistently preach the gospel and study verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book, we believe the Spirit leads us to grow into the image of Christ and to love each other more. Therefore, we encourage all members of the body to be in the Word and living out the truth of the Word daily.
